A Little Better

Today I'm feeling a bit better than I did yesterday. I still probably won't be able to get in the exercise I have hoped to. Maybe I'll be able to go for a short walk or lift some light weights. I entered my food intake so far for the day into my CalorieKing program and as of 1:00 pm I've had 479 calories. A bit more than I would have liked but some of that is a good sized salad which I am happy about because they are filling and I need to increase the vegetables. I tend to eat 2 larger meals each day and maybe 1 snack, so I really need to work on that as well but I find it very difficult to do one of those each 5-6 times a day meal plans.

I'm going to try to find a meal plan that is simple and doesn't vary much from day to day. I don't really like cooking but I'm getting sick of Lean Cuisines and Smart Ones! If you have a simple meal plan you'd like to share with me please comment here or send me an email. If I stumble upon anything worth sharing I'll be sure to post it.

Hope you are having a successful day!

Sick On Sunday

Well my eating is bad today. No exercise whatsoever. At least I have a decent excuse. I'm not feeling well today and have been in bed most of the day. I only just now brought the laptop into bed with me. Still wish I had better things to say about this diet as I feel I must be looking like the biggest failure ever. If I keep my mind in the right place things will fall into place. I have to hold onto that so I don't give up.

I sure hope I feel better tomorrow and can control my food better even if I still won't be able to exercise. Is it impossible to stay on track when one gets ill? Or is it just me?

Twitter!!

I just signed up at Twitter. Hopefully I'll get some followers and maybe even get a few folks to comment and post along with me on this journey. It's always better (and supposedly easier!) if you do it with a group! I know I'm not the only one out there on this journey, so let's do it together!

Saturday is Hard

Just dropping by to touch base and say that my Saturday has ruined my diet already. I'm really going to have to sit down and rethink my strategy. I'm not giving up, not just yet anyway! But with all the stress I have going on right now it's very difficult for me to get started. I'm a stress eater. I'll admit it. We just bought our first house and there are tons of worries about that.

The Workout

So I'm horribly out of shape. I alternated walking and running in place for 20 minutes. I didn't sweat as much as I would have liked but I was quickly out of breath. If I can squeeze another 20 in at some point today I will. But as for getting started I think 20 minutes is probably a good start, considering I went from 0 minutes per day.

On Dr. Phil right now (watching as I ran in place) he is having is "Amazing Weight Loss Revealed" episodes. So it was sort of inspiring to get to watch that at the same time. He also said something struck a chord with me. Or maybe just a note. He said something when referring to a brother and sister who had each lost 40+ pounds over 16 weeks... he said (not verbatim), 'Those 16 weeks don't seem like a long time does it? They are going to pass by whether or not you are doing something about losing weight or not.' I don't even know how many 16 weeks periods have passed by with me trying to lose weight. I probably don't even want to know!

This is the 16 weeks (or more, hopefully less!) that matter. Are you with me?

The First Day Is Always The Hardest

Well, actually, if you ask me, every day after deciding to start is the hardest. But I think it does get easier, eventually. I've already failed my diet plan today, because I woke up, hungry, and totally forgot my intentions for the day. Of course, I realized when I looked at my empty blog staring back at me.

So I will not be posting what I had for lunch today but for the record it's 1pm and I've had about 700 calories. If I can exercise half of that off I'll feel a little better with myself.

What is the best way to avoid waking up so hungry?

Let's Start Today

How many times have you started a diet? If you are like me you are probably starting a new one every Monday or even just as simple as 'Tomorrow'. I'm getting awfully sick of waiting any longer to get started, aren't you? So let's commit to do this together, right now. Not tomorrow. Not Monday. But right now.

If you are with me, and I hope you are, please stay tuned to this blog! I don't care if you have to lose 20 pounds or 100 pounds, this blog is for you.
